2The "Key Concepts" Prompt
Time invested: 5 minutes
Instead of trying to follow the professor's linear progression, I immediately asked for the conceptual framework that would help me understand everything else.
"Identify the 5 most critical concepts discussed in this lecture. For each concept, provide a one-sentence definition and a timestamp."
Result: This gave me a mental map of the entire lecture—I could see the big picture before diving into details. The timestamps let me jump directly to the most important parts.
3The "Explain It Like I'm 15" Prompt
Time invested: 8 minutes
For the most complex topic (quantum entanglement), I used targeted simplification. This is where AI really shines—taking expert-level explanations and making them accessible.
